Breast implants identify dismembered model

A MODEL who was murdered and dismembered was identified by the serial number on her breast implants, police in south China’s Guangdong Province said yesterday.

They were among body parts found in a suitcase floating near an island, said officers.

Police traced the implants and identified the woman as a 22-year-old surnamed Que.

A 29-year-old man, surnamed Huang, is in custody in connection with the murder after officers located more body parts — a head and right leg — encased in cement in a box in his room in Shenzhen.

According to police, Huang, the driver of an illegal taxi, has admitted to raping, robbing and killing Que.

Que’s body parts were found near Luyu Island of Shantou City by two fishermen on June 30, local Daily Sunshine newspaper reported yesterday.

An autopsy revealed the serial number on her implants and police traced the clinic involved in the procedure.

Doctors managed to contact all of the 15 women who could have been given those implants, except Que.

A DNA test confirmed the young model was the victim.

Que, from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, lived in Zhuhai in Guangdong.

She was last seen alive on June 8, leaving a friend’s home in Shenzhen for a photography shoot. Her father reported her missing on June 12.

Police found that 50,000 yuan (US$8,205) was taken from Que’s bank accounts after her death. Surveillance footage showed a man withdraw money using Que’s cards.

On July 6, police located Que’s mobile phone. The owner said his cousin, Huang, gave it to him. Huang was held the next morning.

According to police, he robbed the model to pay gambling debts.
