Budweiser reports fake beer production to police
BUDWEISER has reported to police after a video emerged showing workers filling Budweiser cans with fake brew, Hunan Economic Television Station reported yesterday.
In the video, four workers in a shanty can be seen filling Budweiser cans with beer. They used a packing machine to seal the cans.
Hunan TV reporters found some of these fake beers being sold in stores at 7 yuan each.
The customer service operator of AB InBev's China branch said the workshop in the video did not belong to Budweiser.
It said it had reported the matter to the police and urged people to come forward with more evidences.
Experts said fake beer is often light in color and has obscure patterns on its bottles or cans. The bottle cap or can cover is often loose and they usually don’t taste strong.
