Bus crash kills Taiwan tourist
RESCUERS work to free a passenger after a bus carrying 23 people was buried in a landslide in east China’s Fujian Province on Saturday. A Taiwan woman died and 22 others injured.
The bus, carrying a tour group from Taiwan, veered off the road and overturned after it was hit by falling rocks and mud on a highway in Yongding District of Longyan City at around 10:30am.
The 39-seater bus had 23 people on board, 21 of them were from Taiwan.
By 1pm, all the survivors had been rescued from the wreckage of the bus through the roof and sent to the nearest two hospitals in Yongding District.
Rescuers said it was raining heavily when the accident happened.
