Bus passenger blows himself up

A BUS passenger in southwest China's Chengdu was injured this morning when explosives he was carrying in a bag blew up when he was getting off the bus.
The only victim was the 20-year old man from Yunnan Province. In a picture on news Website SCOL.com.cn, the victim is lying in a pool of blood waiting for the ambulance with his left leg wounded badly.
Police said he was carrying 500 grams of gunpowder used to make firecrackers in a bag. They said the victim's life was not in danger, the report said.
A witness surnamed Yang said the smoke was very thick when the victim's bag exploded around 9am. Other bus passengers were scared but luckily no one else was hurt.
Only the windshield of the bus was slightly damaged. Chengdu police said they were still investigating the case.
