Call for unity in terrorism fight

CHINA is urging the international community to unite in the fight against terrorism and religious extremism.
“Terrorism is a common enemy of mankind,” Meng Jianzhu, who is in charge of political and legal affairs, told a meeting of international security agency heads in Kazan, Russia.
The international community needed to crack down on religious extremism in a bid to eradicate terrorism at its source, he said.
During the two-day meeting that ended yesterday, Meng also met representatives from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS countries and reached broad consensus on issues such as drug trafficking and organized crime.
