Captain's Grandmother Dies
THE family of Zhan Qixiong, the 41-year-old captain, is looking forward to his return.
"When my son will come back home?" Zhan's mother asked reporters time and again on Saturday, with tears in her eyes.
Zhan's grandmother injured herself one week before the incident at sea. The 85-year-old woman died last Wednesday after hearing the news that Zhan was captured by the Japanese authorities.
"The old woman's situation worsened (and died) after hearing the news," said Zhan's aunt Zheng Feng.
Zhan's wife said she is looking forward to her husband's early and safe return so he can have a chance to attend his grandmother's funeral.
