Casualties feared after explosion at dynamite factory in Hebei

A DYNAMITE factory in north China’s Tangshan city, Hebei Province, exploded today at noon and casualties are feared, China National Radio reported.

A witness said a mushroom cloud rose up from the site when the explosion happened.

CNR reported that there were injuries and people were trapped at the site.

Police cordoned off the complex to facilitate rescue work.

The factory is owned by Kailuan Chemical Company, the report said.

The number of casualties and the cause of the explosion remained unclear.
