Cautious on rates
CHINA'S railway rates for freight and passenger transport will continue to be set by the government, a senior official with the National Development and Reform Commission, China's top economic planner, said yesterday.
Cao Changqing, head of the NDRC's price department, said the state will be very cautious in making any price adjustment, taking into account factors like operation, construction, and development of other modes of transport.
