Cave-ins damage homes
NEARLY 100 homes were damaged, including eight that collapsed, after cave-ins in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region last Thursday, rescuers said.
The disaster affected 40,000 square meters of ground in Maohe Village of Liuzhou, a rescue official said yesterday. There were no casualties, but more than 1,700 residents were forced to evacuate.
Experts said cave-ins were not uncommon in karst areas like Liuzhou.
