Changzhou 10-year plan approved
China’s State Council has approved a 10-year development plan for the city of Changzhou in east China’s Jiangsu Province.
The plan, from 2011 to 2020, was drawn up by Changzhou City and sent to the State Council — China’s Cabinet.
Unanimous management will integrate both townships and rural areas in a planned city acreage of 1,872 square kilometers, according to the plan. It also aims to keep the city’s population under 2.48 million by 2020.
The ancient city, with a recorded history going back 3,200 years, will also protect historic towns and villages.
