Charity 'wins' lottery
A lottery prize of more than 16 million yuan (US$2.5 million) will be donated to charity after its winner failed to claim the prize, according to the Yangtze Evening News.
Jiangsu Province Sports Lottery Center announced the money - the biggest unclaimed prize in China - will be given to charity as it remains unclaimed 60 days after the draw on May 30.
The winning ticket was sold in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province. Workers at the Jiangsu Province Sports Lottery Center said they had published notices in a failed attempt to find the ticket holder before the deadline.
Meanwhile, there is public concern over this week's mystery winner of China's biggest jackpot of 514 million yuan, according to the Chongqing Morning Post.
A month ago, a user of Chinese website Tianya.cn claimed China Welfare Lottery would fix the draw of its "two-colored ball" lottery, setting the jackpot at 500 million yuan for one specific winner.
The post attracted little attention until the draw on Tuesday apparently confirmed the claim.
Lottery authorities have denied any wrongdoing, claiming it was "a coincidence".
