Check uncovers drug mill, dealers
TWO men seriously disfigured when they were making illegal drugs were caught by police as a result of a routine vehicle check in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, Chongqing Evening News reported yesterday.
A drug addict surnamed Wang was detained during the check on January 11 and his confession led police to the source of his supply, a man called Yang. Police caught Yang the next day and he told them about the drugs factory explosion.
Police later nabbed the injured pair, surnamed Xu and Chen. They had gone to a county hospital several kilometers away after the blast in November claiming they had been injured at a chemical factory.
Police said the three had made millions of yuan in less than three months from selling drugs. Xu and Chen enjoyed larger shares of the profits because of their injuries, police said.
