Chen can apply to study abroad, says ministry spokesman
CHEN Guangcheng may apply to study abroad through the same channels as other Chinese citizens, Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin said yesterday.
Meanwhile, US State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said Chen had been offered a fellowship from an American university, where he can be accompanied by his wife and two children.
Earlier, Liu said China was demanding an apology from the US for taking Chen "via abnormal means" into the US Embassy in Beijing and let him stay there for six days.
