A COURT in Taiwan has concluded a hearing to determine whether the detention of former Taiwan leader Chen Shui-bian will be extended or if he should be freed while his trial goes forward. A spokesman for the Taipei District Court says a decision on Chen's bid to be released will come on Monday at the earliest. Chen is on trial for corruption offenses.
