Child, woman killed, 5 others injured in street attack near school in S. China

A CRAZED man stabbed an 8-year-old boy and a 70-year-old woman to death yesterday afternoon near a primary school in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, police said.
The suspect, around 40 years old, also injured five other people - two boys, aged 7 and 12, a girl aged 7, and a couple in their 30s - 400 meters from Xizhen Primary School in Xichang Town, Hepu County, at 4:30 p.m. as students left the school after the day's classes.
Police had arrested the suspect and he has been identified as a lunatic, said a spokesman with Beihai City's publicity department, which has jurisdiction over Hepu County.
The injured are being treated in a local hospital. One of them is in a critical condition, he said.
The police are investigating.
