China Involved In Regional Flu Response
CHINA "highly values" its cooperation with ASEAN members in tackling the threat of the H1N1 virus and hopes to enhance joint efforts in public health, flu diagnosis and treatment and scientific research, Chinese Health Minister Chen Zhu said yesterday in Bangkok during a special Asia-region meeting on the swine flu outbreak.
Chen noted the need for China to further strengthen customs inspections to prevent the spread of the new flu, but he did not think international travel restrictions are necessary.
