China braces holiday tourism peak

MANY of the Chinese public are on the road, enjoying their 8-day break for the Mid-autumn Festival and National Day. And the National Tourism Administration has recorded the first tourism peak. More than 5.7 million tourists have visited 119 monitored scenery spots.
The number of tourists and income at these spots have soared by nearly 30% compared with last year. At many sights including the Jiuzhaigou Valley in southwest China, and the Wuyi Mountain in the east, the visitors number has doubled that of the best tourism season.
The guest house rental rate has exceeds 90% in hotspots such as Lushan and Jiuhuashan Mountains, and cities such as Luoyang and Qingdao. Tickets for popular airline routes from Sanya to Guangzhou, from Haikou to Guangzhou and from Xiamen to Wuhan have sold out.
