China is still 鈥榓 defender of sovereignty鈥

China yesterday dismissed accusations made by a senior United States diplomat about its land reclamation activities in the South China Sea, saying the country 鈥渉as been and will continue to be a firm defender of its national sovereignty and international justice.鈥
US Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Russel, while addressing a seminar in South Korea, said that China鈥檚 behavior raised the question of 鈥淲hat kind of a power does China seek to become?鈥
鈥淭he answer to that question is quite clear,鈥 said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying at a regular press briefing.
鈥淐hina has been a peace-loving country, and has successfully worked out a peaceful development road,鈥 she said, adding that the country has embarked on the road of 鈥渨in-win cooperation.鈥
