China supports outcome
THE outcome of the UN climate change conference sends "positive" signals to the international community, the Chinese delegation said yesterday in Cancun, Mexico.
"The deal adheres to the (UN) Convention (on climate change), the Kyoto Protocol and the Bali Roadmap, as well as the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, which ensures next year's negotiations will continue along the two tracks decided by the Bali Roadmap," the Chinese delegation said in a statement.
"Progress has also been made at different levels in areas where developing countries have concerns, such as adaptation, technology transfer, finance and capacity building," said the statement.
