China to mourn quake victims
TO mourn the victims of a strong earthquake in northwest China's Qinghai Province, national flags will fly at half-mast in the country and its embassies and consulates overseas tomorrow, according to the State Council today.
To express the deep condolences for the quake victims, public entertainment will also be suspended tomorrow, the State Council, China's cabinet, said in an announcement.
As of 8 pm Monday, the 7.1-magnitude quake, which struck the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yushu last Wednesday, had killed more than 2,000 while 195 people were still missing, the rescue headquarters said.
