China urges nationals to leave ravaged country
CHINA yesterday called on its nationals to leave Libya, citing the recent deteriorating security situation.
The Chinese Embassy in Libya suggested that businessmen, corporate personnel and contract workers in foreign companies “leave Libya as soon as possible” as the rival militant clashes in the capital Tripoli and Benghazi are escalating, according to a statement published on the embassy’s website.
Many of the Chinese corporations have already suspended their operations and reduced staff. Nearly 800 Chinese have left Libya since May, according to the embassy, though around 1,000 still remain.
