China yesterday welcomed a UN resolution and a decision by an international chemical weapons watchdog regarding Syrian chemical weapons.
“China welcomes the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons’s decision and the United Nations Security Council’s resolution on Syrian chemical weapons,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said in a statement.
He underscored China’s stance on resolving Syrian issues peacefully without external military intervention.
Qin said China expects the UN resolution and the OPCW decision to be fully and accurately implemented.
