China willing to strengthen exchanges of governance experience with Laos: senior CPC official

THE Communist Party of China (CPC) is willing to strengthen exchanges of governance experience with the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) so as to constantly improve the ruling parties' governance capacity, a visiting senior CPC official said here on Saturday.
Liu Qibao, head of the CPC Central Committee's Publicity Department, made the remarks in a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of a theory seminar on "rule of law".
The CPC attached great importance to the rule of law, and it is of great and profound significance that the fourth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee laid out major tasks to comprehensively advance the rule of law, said Liu, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee
China will resolutely follow the path of socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics, and build a socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics and a socialist country ruled by law, he said.
A CPC delegation, led by Liu, arrived here Friday to visit Laos at the invitation of the LPRP and attend the third CPC-LPRP theory seminar.
In his keynot speech at the seminar, Bounthong Chitmany, a member of the Political Bureau of the LPRP Central Committee and president of the Central Control Committee of the LPRP, said that Laos is willing to work with China to learn from each other in a bid to advance socialist rule of law.
On Friday, Liu met with LPRP General Secretary and Lao President Choummaly Sayasone.
During their talks, Liu said that China and Laos are a community of common destiny with great strategic importance.
China stands ready to work with Laos to further promote political mutual trust, conduct win-win economic cooperation and facilitate people-to-people exchanges.
Choummaly, for his part, said that Laos highly values its ties with China and is willing to further deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two parties as well as those between the two countries.
