China's Special Envoy Offers Condolences
THE Chinese government's special envoy, Tang Jiaxuan, yesterday attended the state funeral for former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung in Seoul.
On behalf of the government and Chinese people, Tang expressed deep condolences over the death of Kim and extended sympathy to his family.
Tang said Kim was a good friend to China and its citizens, noting his important contributions in promoting the development of China-South Korea relations. Kim devoted himself to inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation and to peace and development in the region, Tang said.
