Chinese Companies In Holding Pattern

DOMESTIC airlines are continuing suspensions of flights to European countries amid the ash crisis.

They are awaiting the go-ahead from European Union airport authorities before resuming tickets sales to affected regions.

All of China Eastern Airlines' European flights have been cancelled.

Air China has cancelled five one-way flights and eight return flights leaving from Beijing and Shanghai to European cities, including Rome, Madrid, Moscow and Frankfurt.

China Southern Airlines said it would no longer sell tickets to affected European countries until airports there designated the areas safe for flying.
