Chinese death toll rises to 7, with 26 in hospital
SEVEN Chinese nationals, including five from the mainland and two from Hong Kong, have been confirmed killed in Monday’s bomb blast in Bangkok, the Chinese Embassy in Thailand said yesterday.
The latest confirmed fatality was previously labeled as missing, the embassy said.
Another 26 Chinese, including 19 from the mainland, five from Hong Kong and two from Taiwan, are being treated in hospital. Ten of them were in intensive care units — seven from the mainland, two from Taiwan and one from Hong Kong, it added.
The Erawan Shrine is a popular destination for Chinese visitors to the Thai capital.
