A Chinese freighter was hijacked by pirates near the Gulf this morning, Chinese embassy in Tehran said.
The cargo ship, belonging to a company in Nanjing of southeastern China, was hijacked at around 9:30 a.m. local time ( 0600 GMT) near the Iranian port Chabahar.
