Chinese icebreaker ready to join search
CHINA’S Antarctic research icebreaker Xuelong, or Snow Dragon, is “fully prepared” to search for the missing aircraft in the area where possible debris was spotted, maritime authorities said yesterday.
The icebreaker, anchored in Perth, in southwestern Australia, is ready to set off if its help is required, China’s State Oceanic Administration said.
It would take about four days to travel the 1,000 nautical miles to the site.
