FAMOUS pop singer Qu Wanting's mother, who was former senior official of northeast China's Harbin city, would stand trial today on charges of corruption, taking bribes and abusing power, Beijing News reported.
Her arrest is connected to selling state properties below market value for personal profit, according to earlier reports by Chinese media.
Her case involves over 350 million yuan in value, Beijing News reported.
The Intermediate People's Court of Harbin City would hear the case today, the report said.
Zhang Mingjie was removed from her position as the deputy director of the development and reform commission of Harbin in September, 2014 and was arrested for probe.
