Chinese protest against Japanese ascending Diaoyu Islands

PEOPLE in a number of Chinese cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shenyang, Hangzhou, Harbin and Qingdao took to the street this morning to voice their opposition to Japanese activists' landing on the Diaoyu Islands.
Around 8:50 am, over 100 protestors started to gather near the Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, holding China's national flags and banners reading "Sworn to defend China's territory over Diaoyu Islands."

They also shouted loudly "Japan gets out of the Diaoyu Islands!"

In downtown Shenzhen, protestors gathered at the SEG Plaza around 9:00 am with China's national flags in their hands and shouted to defend the Chinese territory.

The Japanese coast guard confirmed that nine Japanese activists landed on the Diaoyu Islands early today, Japanese media reported.
