Chinese public to get an insight into army life
CHINA will require its armed forces to open more barracks to the public this year as part of an effort to promote national defense education among residents to strengthen their patriotism and sense of identity with the army, the PLA Daily said yesterday.
Various “Open Day” activities are already planned this year, offering visitors a glimpse of barracks life, and students from Tsinghua University will have the chance to visit PLA Navy bases.
Students from western areas will also be invited to a summer camp at a barracks of the PLA Rocket Force.
