Chinese warships join search for debris
CHINESE warships were heading for waters of the southern Indian Ocean yesterday where debris possibly linked to the missing Malaysia Airlines flight was seen. Merchant ships and the scientific research vessel Xuelong are set to follow.
Four rescue ships are en route to the area southwest of the Sunda Strait, while a previous search mission in the Bay of Bengal is now being conducted by India, the China Maritime Search and Rescue Center said. China’s largest rescue ship Haixun 01 is searching waters near Christmas Island.
