Cholera forces small town eateries to close
HEALTH auhtorities in Mengcheng County, Anhui Province, have closed all restaurants and food stalls after 30 people showed Cholera symptoms of vomit and diarrhoea.
Twenty patients were still in hospital since the disease broke out on August 16. The other 10 had been released by the local hospital.
The county authorities ordered the closure of all eateries because cholera is caused by unclean food, today's Yunnan Daily reported.
Residents now can only buy a limited number of raw materials at supermarkets and cook meals at home. The investigation into the cause of cholera is still going on.
