Club owner charged with raping schoolgirls

THE owner of a karaoke club in eastern Zhejiang Province has been arrested and charged with raping at least 10 schoolgirls.
Police have also arrested a junior high school student and charged her with aiding the man, Chen Weijun, and a former village director has also been involved in the scandal.
All victims were aged between 13 and 16 years and came from Bihu Middle School in Bihu Town, Lishui City. They were introduced to the club owner by other girls from the school, according to the Oriental Morning Post today.
On February 13 a teacher from the school received a desperate call for help from a 13-year-old student, saying she had been raped in a car. The teacher found the girl and took her to the police.
The girl, Xiao Ling, had been asked to go and play with two of her classmates and they all got into Chen's car. He drove them to an isolated area and kept the girl in the car while her two classmates got out. He raped her even though the two friends tried to pull him off the girl.
The next day police arrested Chen and a girl student called Xiao Li.
Police investigations began to unravel a string of rapes involving the club owner and other girls from the school. Rumors say up to 42 girls from the school have been raped, some by officials, but this is yet to be confirmed.
Lin Yun, the mother of Xiao Li, the schoolgirl who has been arrested said her daughter had been introduced to Chen by two other classmates in 2007. Chen, the owner of the Piaoxue KTV club, took her out for meals and drinks at first but later raped the then 13-year-old student in his car one day.
Chen had sex with the girl several times after that and offered her money if she brought other girls to have sex with him.
Xiao Li then lured another girl, Xiao Fang, to meet Chen who raped her in his car. Chen then paid Xiao Fang 500 yuan (US$73) and Xiao Li 300 yuan.
Xiao Fang was one of the two girls who tricked Xiao Ling getting into Chen's car. Chen gave her money and a mobile phone so that she would bring more girls to him.
Xiao Li had introduced three girls to Chen who paid her about 5,000 yuan including money for an abortion. Chen told Xiao Li he had had sex with many girls from the school over seven years.
Now another one of the victims, Xiao Fei, said she was not only raped by Chen, but also by He Guobing, the former village director of Zhao Village. Xiao Fei said she had contracted a venereal disease and had been told by a doctor she would never be able to conceive.
On April 4 police detained He and charged him with rape.
Xiao Li's mother Lin said she been divorced when Xiao Li was a baby and Lin went to work out of town when her daughter was seven. Xiao Li was brought up by her grandmother.
Lin said her daughter was also a victim.
