Coal mine accident kills 28 miners in Shaanxi
TWENTY-EIGHT miners were killed in a coal mine accident yesterday in Hancheng City, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, said the provincial government today.
All of the 28 miners who were working in the shaft were killed when an underground cable caught fire at about 8:10 p.m. at Xiaonangou coal mine at Sangshuping Township of Hancheng City, said the provincial government in a statement.
Rescuers retrieved remains of five miners as of 10 am today, it said.
