Coal mines closed

AUTHORITIES in east China’s Shandong Province last year eliminated 2.9 million tons of outdated production capacity and closed down 13 coal mines, the provincial coal industry bureau said yesterday. The closed mines accounted for about 2 million tons of the eliminated production capacity while another five were ordered to upgrade their operations.
