Cold blasts south China
A strong cold front will bring heavy rain and snow to south China, sending temperatures plummeting amid the Spring Festival holiday, officials said.
The southeast part of northwest China, the plains of Huanghuai, Jianghan and Jianghuai, regions south of the Yangtze River, south China and southwest China are expected to see temperatures 6 to 10 degrees Celsius lower over the next few days.
Strong winds will sweep the plains of Huanghuai and Jianghuai and regions south of the Yangtze River.
Snow is expected in the provinces of Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan and in Shanghai, with blizzards hitting southern Anhui and northwest Zhejiang provinces.
