Cold fronts to bring temperature drops in China

COLD fronts will hit northern China today and most parts of China in the following three days, bringing sharp temperature drops, meteorological authorities said today.

Temperatures will fall 6 to 10 degrees Celsius in northeastern China, northern China and regions along Yellow and Huai rivers today, the China Meteorological Administration said in a statement on its website.

Some regions will see a bigger decline up to 12 degrees Celsius, the statement said, adding the northeastern part of Heilongjiang province will see moderate to heavy snows.

The statement said another cold front will move from the west to the east and cause temperature drops by 4 to 8 degrees Celsius, or even 10 degrees Celsius, in most parts of China in the following three days.

The cold air will also bring light to moderate snow or sleet in parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Jilin province, Liaoning province and northern China.

The southern parts of China will brace for heavy rains over the coming three days, including Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Zhejiang provinces and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Rainstorm will slash certain parts, the statement said.
