College entrance exam cheaters disqualified
EDUCATION authorities in north China's Hebei Province have disqualified 277 college entrance examination candidates who faked their identity to win extra scores.
Investigation showed they had forged their personal information pretending to be relatives of coal mine workers so that they could get extra scores to enter a college run by a coal mine company between July and August.
Among the 277 students, 204 were deprived of their test results; 73 had their college admission withdrawn; and the rest 13 students abandoned the admission on their own.
Education authorities also revoked licenses of two training schools in Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province, after finding they helped the students to forge personal information. The schools were ordered to refund tuition fees to the students, Beijing Times reported today.
