As the world's ninth longest river, the Lantsang-Mekong River is the most important river in Asia, originating from China's Yushu, running through China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam and finally into the South China Sea.

Connecting a total area of over 2,568,600 square kilometers and with a population of 320 million, the region is rich in natural and labor resources, but still underdeveloped. Therefore the event was initiated to promote cooperation among related countries and inspire wisdom from young students.
