Cop killed in gun fight with suspected kidnappers in NE China

A police official died after a gun fight with two suspected kidnappers in Qiqihar City in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, the Ministry of Public Security said.
The gun fight occurred at 8pm on Monday when Yang Wenfeng, police from local Longsha District, was managing to seize the two suspects.
One of the suspects was shot dead at the scene while the other was captured. Yang was shot on his head and admitted to hospital. He was pronounced dead on Tuesday morning, the ministry said.
Police seized two homemade pistols at the scene. A further investigation is still ongoing, China News Service reported.
