Couple divorces over husband's snoring

A HUSBAND’S incessant snoring led to a couple’s divorce in Ningbo city, in neighboring Zhejiang Province, Qianjiang Evening News reported today.
The 30-year-old wife, surnamed Wang, said in her divorce application that she had not had a sound night’s sleep since she married her husband, surnamed Gong, in October 2012. Gong’s heavy snoring caused her to get ill and she lost 7.5 kilograms in the first six months.
Even though there are medical solutions for snoring, Wang said instead the couple quarreled and never talked about how to find an answer.
Wang filed her divorce application in Zhenhai Court in Ningbo last month, saying she could not stand the sound of her husband’s snoring anymore.
The divorce was granted and Wang paid Gong compensation of 5,000 yuan (US$806.45), the judge said.
