Court Chief Sacked For Abusing Public Money
A maritime court official in Guangdong Province was sacked yesterday for traveling overseas using public funds.
Luo Guohua, head of Guangzhou Municipal Maritime Court, was sacked at the 23rd session of the Standing Committee of the 13th Guangzhou Municipal People's Congress. Luo allegedly spent 480,000 yuan (US$70,278) with five other court staff on a 12-day "working" trip to South Africa, Egypt and Turkey early this year.
