MIGRANT workers can directly seek legal advice over labor disputes via their mobile phones from Friday, when Shanghai No.2 Intermediate People’s Court opened a WeChat public account to solve their questions.
The mobile platform, described as the first of its kind in Chinese courts, offers migrant workers direct access to hear advice from Qiao Beihua, a veteran judge in dealing with labor disputes. Also, labor dispute cases will be explained as reference.
The court has accepted 2,542 labor disputes from 2015 to this June, among which more than half concerned migrant workers and nearly half concerned factories in the suburban districts.
