THE families of the 19 victims killed in Thursday's bus-truck collision in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province have been compensated, local authorities said yesterday. Jointly, they received a total of 4.17 million yuan (US$610,000).
The unlicensed bus driver who was blamed for the accident was not able to raise the compensation right away, so the government of Fangzheng County, where the accident happened, paid in advance.
