GERMANY'S win over Argentina in the World Cup resulted in a massive row between a couple in central China's Chongqing city who bet their future pregnancy on the result.
The 25-year-old wife, who has been an Argentina fan for 12 years, struck a deal with her German-supporting husband to get pregnant this year if Argentina won the match on Saturday, reported China News Service today.
But if Argentina lost, she would delay giving birth for one year for every point Germany scored, the radio said.
After Argentina was routed 4-0, the husband rubbed salt in the wife's wounds by laughing at her choice.
The couple had a big fight when the wife banned her husband from cheering on Germany. The fight escalated when the wife said she wouldn't consider having a baby in four years.
The wife has returned to her parents and her mother-in-law is insisting her son divorces her, the report said.
