Day-care center boy beaten to death for screaming
POLICE in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southwest China, have nabbed a day-care center worker who allegedly beat an eight-year-old boy with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder to death because the boy made too much noise at night.
The 44-year-old man surnamed Wei was the husband of the center's director and worked part-time there. He said the boy kept screaming and crying after midnight on July 8 when other children were asleep. He took the boy, Xiao Lin, to another room and beat him until the boy fell silent. Wei then went back to sleep, leaving the boy lying on the floor, Gxnews.com reported today.
The next morning Wei's wife, the center's director, came and found the boy looking pale. She sent the boy to hospital where he died later.
