Dear diary, you've got me suspended...
A DIRECTOR of a tobacco monopoly in southern China has been suspended after his diary was published online detailing his sexual encounters, drinking binges and bribe taking.
Han Feng's diary has become a hit in online forums across the nation. In 140 entries between September 2007 and January 2008, he lists details of his work, his income and his lovers.
Han was suspended from his sales director job with the Tobacco Monopoly Bureau in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as soon as the post started to spread on February 22, said a bureau director Liao Hongxiu quoted by Information Times yesterday.
Liao said the Party disciplinary watchdogs in the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration had become involved in the case.
He said the diary was unlikely to be fabricated and Han would be punished if the investigation produced solid evidence of any offences.
It is still not known how the diary was leaked.
But some Internet users found that the dates of meetings Han recorded in the diary coincided with media reports about these meetings, boosting its credibility.
Two entries were about taking 60,000 yuan (US$8,787) in bribes.
Han repeatedly mentioned six women he had slept with, even listing some addresses and phone numbers.
One entry read: "As to playing women, Xiao Pan is hooked, Tan is regular, and Mo is in the queue. This year I had abundant romantic encounters but had to pay attention to my health."
The man who posted the diary online claimed to be the husband of one of Han's mistresses.
