Death sentence for killing pregnant nurse

A POLICEMAN in northwest China has been sentenced to death for killing a pregnant nurse.
Zuo Fengyuan, a policeman with the Xifeng Branch of Qingyang City in Gansu Province, was also ordered to pay compensation of 40,000 yuan (US$5,854) to the victim's family, today's Lanzhou Morning Post reported.
Zuo went to the Qingyang No. 1 People's Hospital at 9pm on February 28 to visit a traffic accident victim, surnamed Bai, to talk about compensation.
Bai had been moved to another ward and he asked the nurse, Zhang Lili, for information about Bai, but they began arguing.
Zuo eventually found Bai. But after he left the hospital he remained enraged by the nurse's attitude. He returned to the hospital an hour later and attacked the nurse savagely, stabbing her with a knife. Zhang fell to the ground and died.
Zuo was arrested at the scene.
