Death toll from fatal bus fall reaches 18
DEATH toll has climbed to 18 as more victims died of injuries after a tourist coach fell off a highway bridge in southwest China's Guizhou Province yesterday.
The bus from the city of Yiwu in east China's Zhejiang Province and bound for Luzhou, a city in southwestern Sichuan Province, plunged into a 10-meter-deep ravine around 6:40pm while traveling on an icy section of the Lanzhou-Haikou expressway.
Preliminary investigation found the slippery road led to the fatal accident, China National Radio reported today.
The 53-seat bus was carrying 56 people when the accident happened.
